King Diamond Is The Latest Playable Character In Guitar Hero: Metallica

Published by Powerslave at 1:13 pm under Uncategorized Edit This

I’m still in the midst of tweaking everything here and testing out different colors, but in the meantime, I thought I would get some kind of metal related news up to start things off.

Normally I wouldn’t post much about Guitar Hero or Metallica for that matter, but this is kind of special circumstances.  Last week we found out that we can play as Lemmy on the new GH, and this week it’s King Diamond. Not Dustin Diamond, not Lou Diamond Phillips, it’s King F**kin’ Diamond! King Diamond will be another unlockable character for the song “Evil”. It will be fun watching people try to emulate Kings falsetto.

“It’s been absolutely amazing to be a part of this Guitar Hero experience. It was quite a trip to re-record the [MERCYFUL FATE] song ‘Evil’ almost 25 years after the original recording took place. The end result with four out of the five original musicians turned out so much better than I would ever have hoped for. Seeing my animated character take form was totally eerie in a very good way. It’s so strange to see yourself animated in such perfect detail — cross bone microphone, Eye necklace and all. This game looks and sounds METAL all the way. HORNS UP!!!”, commented King Diamond

King Diamond had an early influence on Metallica and if you’ve heard the Mercyful Fate track on Metallica’s Garage Inc.,  then you probably know just how awesome Kind Diamond and Mercyful Fate are. You haven’t really experienced it until you’ve actually heard the real deal though. The King knows how to wail in that falsetto like very few others. The best place to start if you like Metallica’s medley is Mercyful Fate’s Mellisa. This has all three songs that Metallica covered on it, being Evil, Curse Of The Pharaohs and Satan’s Fall.
